Satay is a unique food by serving it because pieces of small
meat are pierced with coconut / bamboo sticks, baked or burned using charcoal
coals. Not only the meat, various ingredients in the ingredients make each
satay recipe able to spoil the tongue. Can be made sweet or somewhat spicy
according to taste.
Various kinds of meat can be made satay, such as chicken,
goats, sheep, rabbits, horses, and others. Recipes from Java are now found
throughout Indonesia as well as Southeast Asian countries.
Chicken satay is the most popular type of satay because the
fat content in chicken meat is more 'safe' than cows, goats, and others.
The difference in all types of satay lies in the
ingredients, such as peanut sauce, soy sauce, coconut milk, and others. Satay
made from chicken meat which is more tender and soft, suitable for the elderly
who want to eat it with rice cake.
According to the type, the naming of the recipe is
determined by the regional characteristics or appearance. In this recipe we
will make a simple satay dish that is usually made for Indonesian people.
Ingredients:
- ¼ kg of peanuts, fried and mashed
- 5 red onion cloves, puree
- 5 cloves of garlic, puree
- 4 red chilies, puree
- 1/2 liter of water or enough
- 100 ml of sweet or enough soy sauce
- 1 cup of orange leaves
- Pepper powder to taste
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
How to make Chicken Satay:
1. Cut the chicken meat, prepare a skewer to stab the cut
chicken meat, then set aside.
2. Sauté the spices with lime leaves, water, sweet soy sauce,
salt, and pepper until cooked and boil, set aside.
3. Take enough peanut sauce and add sweet soy sauce. Rub on
the surface of the meat, let stand for a while so that the seasoning seeps into
the meat.
4. Bake or bake the satay while smeared with the spread of
the spread, don't forget to flip the satay so the meat doesn't burn.
5. If the color has begun to change, lift the satay from the
grill. Satay is ready to be served with peanut and complementary ingredients
such as pickles, lime slices, cucumber, and tomato slices.
