Let's Cook Soto Ayam Easily


Soto is one of Indonesia's specialties from thousands of other Indonesian dishes. In Indonesia there are many types of soto, such as soto ayam, soto lamongan, soto betawi and many more. It can be said that in every region in Indonesia has a lot of soto by cooking and taste different from other regions. Soto is also very easy to find in various places in Indonesia, ranging from eating places to traveling vendors. Actually there is no harm in us trying to make our own soto at home, Here's a recipe for how to make soto ayam(chiken) :


Material :

1. Chicken to taste
2. Col 200 g, thinly sliced
3. Bean sprouts 200 g, cleaned and steamed until cooked
4. Tomatoes 2 pieces, then divided into 6 parts
5. Soun 50 g, soak with hot water
6. 1-3 eggs, boiled until cooked and then sliced into 4 parts
7. Fried onions 50 g
8. 3 pieces of orange leaves
9. Lemongrass 2 sticks
10. 2-sheet bay leaf
11. 1 stick leek, finely sliced
12. Extend 25 g
13. Cooking oil to taste
14. Turmeric 2 cm
15. Pecan 4 pieces
16. Ginger 15 g
17. Shallots 3 pieces
18. 2 cloves of garlic
19. Salt to taste
20. Sugar as nice as possible
21. 1 fruit lime, divided into 8 parts

Actually it doesn't have to be exactly the same as above, if you want to add it like chicken replaced with beef, you can.

How to make :
  1. Blend the turmeric, candlenut, ginger, onion and garlic. Then add pepper, sugar and salt.
  2. Prepare the frying pan with low heat until medium, then saute the spices that have been mashed with cooking oil. Add orange leaves, bay leaves, lemongrass, and galangal. After that, stir-fry the spices until they taste fragrant.
  3. Prepare a pan to boil water. Then boil the water until it boils. After boiling water then add the sauteed spices to the pan.
  4. Enter the chicken that has been cleaned into the broth that is being boiled. Boil the broth until boiling and chicken until cooked.
  5. Don't forget to taste the gravy, if it feels bad you can add salt, sugar, and pepper to your taste. 
  6. Remove the chicken from the sauce, then separate the chicken with the bone. Set aside chicken meat and reinsert the chicken bone into the broth.
  7. Put the finely chopped leeks into the sauce.
  8. Chicken that has been boiled in a sauce then fried until brown, then cut into small pieces of cooked chicken.
  9. Prepare a clean container in the form of a bowl to serve soto.
  10. Chicken soup can be served with rice or longtong. If using it, put the rice or rice cake first into the bowl.
  11. Put the sliced ​​cabbage, bean sprouts, soun, tomatoes, eggs, and chicken meat that was cut into small pieces.
  12. Pour enough soto sauce into the bowl.
  13. Sprinkle the fried onions in a bowl and place or squeeze the lime slices on top.
  14. Soto ayam is ready to be served. Complete also chicken soup with sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, and crackers/kerupuk if necessary.
